Fast approaching is Police Memorial Week 2021. This year the names of the 228 (as of the date of this writing) police officers taken from us in 2020 will be added to the Law Enforcement Memorial Wall, of those we lost 127 to COVID19. Sadly, those numbers will, in all probability, increase before the end of the year.
Not added to this wall are the names of the 144 (to date) police officers that died by suicide in 2020.
In 2019 we had 147 officers killed and an additional 236 died by their own hand. In 2018 another 185 police officers were killed in the line of duty and 177 succumbed to suicide.
I have had the misfortune of being muzzled for nearly ten years, due [...]
Protests devolved into rioting and looting overnight as the National Guard was deployed by the Governor to assist Philadelphia Police to quell the growing riots in and around the city of Philadelphia.
Protests began in small numbers almost immediately following the shooting of a man refusing to put down a knife and advancing on officers after being called to the scene of a domestic disturbance in the 6100 block of Locust street where the shooting occurred.
By later the same evening several hundred protestors had filled Locust street and spilled out into other areas when looting began, destroying the storefronts of dozens of businesses as looters smashed windows to gain [...]
NASCAR driver Josh Bilicki and sponsor Insurance King has expanded their partnership with The Wounded Blue — the only national organization dedicated to assisting injured officers — and with their partnership have upped the ante on cool paint schemes to honor the men and women in blue.
The trio has just unveiled a new paint job that transforms Bilicki’s #7 Chevrolet Camaro into a police car, complete with red and blue lights to make the vehicle appear as if it’s laying chase to other cars on the track. Some fans may not know it, but NASCAR actually began as bootleggers outrunning the police.
But it’s not all fun and games this Halloween.
Bilicki’s NASCAR vehicle [...]

Democrats began an onslaught of insults and negative rhetoric against the republican party after Judge Amy Coney Barrett won the senate vote 52-48, with zero democrat support and one dissenting republican vote in the most partisan supreme court nomination vote in the history of the country.
Senator Chuck Schumer took to the podium to decree that today “will go down as one of the darkest days in the 231-year history of the United States Senate”

The police chief of SUNY Brockport today bowed to political pressure, stating that the University Police will no longer the Thin Blue Line flag that flies at thousands of police facilities, on tens of thousands of police vehicles and in part celebrates the lives of those lost in the line of duty as well as signifying the strength of togetherness that those in the policing profession associate with the flag.
The decision was made by Chief Daniel M. Vasile basing his decision on the fact that the flag’s identity has been stolen by some alleged hate groups, altering its message.
Chief Vasile stated in a letter to residents that concerns were raised after photos of [...]
Officers responding to a domestic violence call at 3:50 pm today in the 6100 block of Locust Street in Philadelphia were confronted with a subject brandishing a knife at officers.
In bystander video, officers can be seen retreating from the approaching subject several times around a vehicle before the subject rounds the rear of a vehicle parked and lunges at two officers who are yelling instructions for the subject to drop the weapon. Both officers then appear to return fire, dropping the subject in the street.
Irate bystanders then appear to make it difficult for officers to check the suspect’s condition and render aid before the video cuts out. The suspect, [...]

Today, criminals are increasingly adopting new and innovative technologies or inventing new tradecraft to fund and support their nefarious activities. With technology becoming more pervasive and easier to use, criminals are becoming more effective in working around Law Enforcement (LE) to conduct their illegal activities. In parallel, LE agencies must be agile and more adaptive to transform how they investigate/ prosecute criminals and their organizations. LE must adopt new methodology, tradecraft, and technology to combat gangs and their illegal operations. To start the process of combatting crime, LE agencies must modernize their ability to trace criminal activity [...]

Rather than being concerned with impending criminal investigations at the highest level, Barack Obama was in North Miami, Florida, over the weekend, delivering a racist and divisive speech that propped up the former Vice President as someone who could “lead us out of these dark times”.
The former President said, “we cannot abandon those protesters that inspired us over the summer”, referring to the violent criminal mob called ‘Black Lives Matter’ that burned cities to the ground, assaulted innocent bystanders, threw Molotov cocktails at police officers and looted locally owned businesses, resulting in the [...]

REDDING, Calif. — In spite of recent calls for defunding police departments across the country which have led the headlines for months, nationwide polls show that most Americans overwhelmingly agree that patrol officers are invaluable and an absolute necessity to ensure the safety and security of the residents they serve.
However, with a seemingly never-ending stream of 911 calls, today’s patrol officers are stretched to the breaking point. Officers in many cities describe their shifts as being spent racing from call to call, leaving them little time to deal with or address their area’s ongoing, long-term problems – many of which are at the very root of the volume of calls [...]

Polk County Florida Sheriff, Grady Judd, stood in front of an eager press room filled with journalists waiting to take a jab at tactics used by deputies to control a violent suspect that may have been struggling with mental health issues. “We are the best-trained people, in a crisis, not a mental health counselor who’s used to a more clinical setting,” said Judd when answering a question as to why the sheriff’s office doesn’t send ‘mental health professionals’ to a scene that involves a suspect dealing with a mental health crisis.

Following the arrest of a parolee who was found driving a stolen vehicle in Hemet Tuesday, morning, Oct 13, allegations have surfaced that Hemet police officers were seen using excessive force and beating the handcuffed man while making the arrest.
Although several people claimed to have witnessed what one woman described as the “brutal and unnecessarily violent” arrest, video filmed and photos taken at the scene and shared to social media quickly disproved those allegations.
Additionally, body-worn camera footage from several of the involved officers “clearly showed” that officers remained calm throughout the incident and that “minimal force was used” during the man’s [...]

Some people know this about me; others do not. I have killed a man. This is not a confession; it is just a fact. I have nothing to hide about it. I am not ashamed of the fact. I have no regrets about doing it. I was doing my job. At the time of your death, I was a police officer. And, you tried your best to kill me. I am the police officer that killed you.
I hope you were not long in your suffering, but as I am aware, during the short time I spent with you, listening to your cries of agony and for mercy, the curses you spat at me, I endured, as you bled to death. I endured.
I hope you had a chance to reconcile with our creator before you went, and that angels [...]

It also supports the organization’s mission to tell the story of American law enforcement, honor the fallen, and make it safer for those who serve.

When did the police become America’s punching bags? I mean that literally, as well as figuratively. Was there a defining moment? Or did our country gradually morph into a society where the authority of Law enforcement officers has eroded to the point where even grade school children no longer fear consequences from confrontations with the police?
Now I know that merely using the word “fear” in a conversation about law-enforcement is in and of itself politically incorrect. I mean, after all, if one was to listen to all of the political rhetoric coming from Senators, Congressman, Governors, Mayors, and all assorted others who consider themselves experts in [...]
A second city in America has now empowered the criminal element wreaking havoc across the nation by issuing what is essentially a written “white flag of surrender.” The first was the result of the City Council of Seattle’s interference with the Police Department resulting in a public notice from the Chief of Police Carmen Best when she informed the people of Seattle that officers had “no ability to intercede to preserve property amid a large violent crowd safely.”
Of course, Seattle had already entirely ceded six city blocks for months to violent anarchists who occupied the area until the shootings of two and killing of one young Black teen forced Police to intercede and [...]
